Project SETE. Immersion of young volunteers
in the Shrine of Fatima
July 29 to September 1, 2019 | for young people between the ages of 18 and 35
Fatima didn’t stop having a secret to say: it is the secret about the meaning of each one's life. Today, say it by means other than those of earlier stages of these one hundred years of God's history with men, when the secrets were for the crowds.
Today, Fátima proposes a volunteer project, which can help you discover who you are and for what you are now, as youth, life presents itself as an adventure open for discernment and decisions. If you are a Christian and wonder about life, the great discovery that Project SEVEN can offer you will be, perhaps, that the whole life is transfigured when you discover part of a larger project, that of God, which has over you, as the Angel told the Little Shepherds, "designs of mercy.”
The name SETE (seven) given to this volunteer immersion project places us, in the context of the message of Fatima, in the seventh apparition of the Lady to Lucia, on June 15, 1921. The Bishop of Leiria had then entrusted to Lucia the mission of leaving Cova da Iria. Lucia hesitates. She had many projects. She feared that this project of God would annul her own. I needed the embrace to confirm it in friendship and faith: "And it was then that I felt your helping hand and motherly touch me on the shoulder, I looked up and saw you, it was you, the blessed mother taking me by hand and showing me the way. Your lips parted and the sweet tone of your voice restored the light and peace in my soul: "Here I am for the seventh time, go, follow the path …”.
This apparition can offer a key of reflection for your life and for our time. Which way will you go?
If you are young and you feel challenged by the Christian experience of welcome and pilgrimage, if you are in search of a spiritually rich, deep and shared experience with other young people, if you ask yourself about the meaning and the actuality of the event and the experience of Fatima, this project is for you. Accompanied by your fellow volunteers and the team of the Shrine, you will be invited to enter into a dynamic of spiritual deepening.
You can participate in various experiences of welcome, prayer and sharing that can be to live in the various spaces of the Shrine, from Cova da Iria to Aljustrel and Valinhos. several services will be offered to you:
- welcoming pilgrims;
- meeting with children;
- contact with more pilgrims in need;
- contact with the pilgrims at key moments of their pilgrimages (eg procession of candles);
- guidelines and information;
- orientation of prayer times and itineraries;
- call for silence;
- accompanied visits;
- Propose Fatima: Creative Workshop.
