The adoration, first word of Fatima, already points to the Trinitarian aspect of the message. With the prayers of the Angel, the whole event of Fatima is framed in the horizon of a God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a God defined by communion of love. Furthermore, we come across in the centre of the whole message offered in Fatima the love in which God is defined: forgiving love that calls to conversion, the merciful love. In the conclusion of the event, in the vision of Tuy, Sister Lucia realises that it’s been shown to her “the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity and [receives] lights about this mystery which she is not permitted to reveal”. The Trinity as communion-of-love, as communion-offered-as-mercy is, as a result, the final word of Fatima. The secret of Fatima refers the mystery of a God-Communion to the mystery of mankind evolved by the tragedy of loneliness.
