 Because in this pastoral year of 2010-2011 the Shrine of Fatima intends to commemorate, in a special way, the apparitions of the Angel at Fatima in 1916, it is organizing, for March 31, the recalling of the first apparition of this messenger of God, who came to prepare the hearts of the three little seers for the apparitions of Our Lady in 1917.
From the memoirs of Sister Lucia we conclude that the exact date of this apparition of the Angel of Peace is not known, as well as the dates of the following apparitions. We only know that the first apparition occurred in the Spring, the second in the Summer and the third in the Fall.
Therefore, this year, during the first days of Spring, the date chosen for the commemoration of the first apparition was the last day of March.
The program, in which all are invited to participate, begins with the gathering at the Little Chapel of Apparitions, at 21h30, from where it follows a walk to Loca do Cabeço (hilltop grotto), where this apparition took place, with the Rosary being recited on the way there.
The program ends with the recalling of the apparition at the respective location.
On this day there won’t be any other evening program; only this one.
