In Brazil, on May 28, one more space dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima is being inaugurated, after a replica of the Little Chapel of Apparitions was built in Rio de Janeiro.
In declarations to journalists on the afternoon of May 12, the Rector of the Shrine of Fatima in Portugal, Fr. Virgílio Antunes, soon to be ordained Bishop, stated in this regard: “It will be a great center for the spread of the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima”.
In the words of the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Most Rev. Orani Tempesta, who will preside over the inauguration, this place “will be a sign planted in our country to remind us of the need for conversion and continuous prayer”.
The statue of Our Lady of Fatima destined to that Little Chapel was blessed by Bishop António Marto, of Leiria-Fatima, at the end of Mass on May 13, at Fatima, Portugal.

The Statue will be taken to the City of Rio de Janeiro, where it will be enthroned at a replica of the Little Chapel of Apparitions, just finished, whose dimensions are the same as the real one at the Shrine of Fatima, Portugal.
The inauguration is scheduled to take place on May 28 and will be presided over by the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Most Rev. Orani João Tempesta.
Bishop António Marto, of Leiria-Fatima, and Fr. Virgílio Antunes, Rector of the Shrine of Fatima, will attend the inauguration.
The idea of building said replica of the Little Chapel of Apparitions in Rio de Janeiro came from the founders of the Archdiocesan Association “Tarde com Maria” (Afternoon with Mary).
