* In order to incentivate the development of children in what pertains to musical animation of the liturgy and to look for a musical practice with more quality in the celebrations involving children, the Shrine of Fatima is going to hold, on June 14, its First National Encounter of Children’s Choirs. Besides the Schola Cantorum Pastorinhos de Fatima*, children’s choir of the Shrine of Fatima, there were invited for this encounter six other Portuguese choirs: · Pueri Cantores – children’s choir from the Church of the Little Shepherds – Alverca · Pequenos Cantores de Amorim – Amorim · Coro e Orquestra da Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional – Lisbon · Coro de Câmara Infantil da Academia de Música de Santa Cecília –Lisbon · Coro Brigantino Infantil – Bragança · Coro Infantil de São Pedro – Pedroso · Coro das Crianças e Jovens da Barreira However, any choir may sign up to participate in and/or attend this encounter. Maestro Paulo Lameiro, placed in charge, by the Shrine of Fatima, of organizing this initiative, says that this First Encounter will be “a concert interpolated by texts of reflection on musical practice involving children in the liturgy” and that in it we will find represented the “different types of children’s choirs: from those at the parish level to those of the conservatoire”. The concert begins at 15h00 and it will be held in Most Holy Trinity Church. Admission free. |
