The City of Faro welcomes, from September 19 to October 3, one of the pilgrim statues of Our Lady of Fatima. It is all part of a visit which concludes the pilgrimage the Marian Statue has been making through the Diocese of Faro, Algarve, since October 2007, which was part of the Diocesan Pastoral Program. This is the second time the Marian Statue visits Faro, while peregrinating through Algarve. The Pilgrim Statue first visited Faro on October 13, 2007, on the 90th anniversary of the October apparition, when it first arrived in the Diocese, where it was welcomed by about 15,000 people, according to information received from the Diocese of Algarve. “The Pilgrim Statue, which has just arrived from the Parish of Montenegro (County of Faro), will remain, until October 3, in the Cathedral of Faro, in order to facilitate not only meeting the faithful of the city’s three parishes, but also all the other faithful from other parts of Algarve who may wish to come to say goodbye to Our Lady”, the press release adds. |
