In the year when the Shrine of Fatima turns to the figure of Jacinta Marto and takes her as a special model, the Department of Art and Patrimony (part of SESDI – Department of Research and Information) is preparing an exhibition on this important figure of the history and message of Fatima. With this exhibition there concludes the project begun last year when various objects of the historical, artistic, documental and bibliographical patrimony on the figure of Blessed Francisco Marto were exhibited. So, on March 11, 2010, 12:00, the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Jacinta Marto, the Shrine of Fatima is going to inaugurate, in the entrance hall of St. Augustine’s Convivium (meeting hall), in Most Holy Trinity Church Complex, an exhibition titled “Jacinta Marto: candle lighted by God”, in which the visitors may see various objects which once belonged to the youngest seer and some of the documents which made the history of Fatima, material specially tailored for museum in order to help to better understand the life and spirituality of Blessed Jacinta Marto, who, together with her brother, John Paul II called “candle lighted by God”.
