April 5 – Palm Sunday Concert On April 5, Palm Sunday, Most Holy Trinity Church welcomes the ‘Passion of Jesus Christ according to John’, by Canon António Ferreira dos Santos, with the Choir of the Church of Lapa, Porto. When he presented this work to the Rectory of the Shrine of Fatima, Canon Ferreira dos Santos described the project as “being the most serious and profound musical work I’ve ever composed” and said that, in this Meditation-Concert, “I am there with my whole being: as creature of God integrated in the Cosmos, as musician and as disciple and priest of Jesus Christ”. The concert starts at 15h00 and admission to it is free. April 12 – Easter Concert It is already a tradition at the Shrine of Fatima to offer to the public, on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, a musical show; thus, the amphitheater of Paul VI Pastoral Center will be the venue for a concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Beiras, with the Regina Coeli Choir. The planned program is as follows: -Stabat Mater, by Pergolesi -Mass “In tempore belli”, by Joseph Hayden, when this Austrian compositor happens to have died 200 years ago (May 31, 1809) The concert will start at 15h00 and admission to it is free. |
