 On August 15, day in which the Church celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Shrine of Fatima will follow the usual Sunday schedule.
The International 11h00 Mass at the Outdoor Altar of the Prayer Area will be presided over by Bishop António dos Santos Marto, of Leiria-Fatima.
Still on the same day, at the same celebration, the Shrine of Fatima will give thanks to God for the Jubilee of the priestly ordination of Canon Luciano Cristino, one of its oldest chaplains.
Canon Cristino was born on September 26, 1938, at Maceirinha, Maceira, Leiria, Portugal, and ordained priest on August 15, 1962.
He is Chaplain of the Shrine of Fatima since 1974, and Head of the Department of Research and Information (SESDI, in Portuguese) of the Shrine of Fatima. His main task currently is to prepare the publication of the Critical Documentation of Fatima (DCF, in Portuguese). |
